Character articles should be named using the character's name from the '''English Anime Dub''' and all links to the character in other articles should point to that page or use a shortened form of their name. The other forms of their name (Kanji, Romanji, Viz translation) should be listed on the character's article using the {{Tlx|translation}} template as the start of the article text with the main name in bold text.

When a character has not yet appeared in the English dub then the Japanese Romanized form of their name should be used with the various symbols such as "ō" converted into the spelled version of the character, "o" in this case and their name changed to ''Western order'' (Given name first) to avoid confusion to the readers. Names should not be translated into literal English until they appear in the English anime or have another source state their official English name.

When a character has an alias that character's article should use their '''real name''' not the alias, as the title. The different aliases that the character has should be elaborated upon in the article. When an article is in a context where the alias is more appropriate for use than the real name is (such as using Tobi instead of Madara Uchiha when talking about him in the context of Akatsuki) then the alias may be used as the name and link used in the article. (This includes placing a Kage's article on their real name and redirecting to it instead of using something like ''Sixth Hokage'')

This is the policy for the naming of naruto articles, characters, places, skills, and techniques.

Characters

Character articles should be named using the character's name from the English Anime Dub and all links to the character in other articles should point to that page or use a shortened form of their name. The other forms of their name (Kanji, Romanji, Viz translation) should be listed on the character's article using the {{translation}} template as the start of the article text with the main name in bold text.

(Might Guy not Maito Gai)
(Choji Akimichi not Akimichi Chōji)

When a character has not yet appeared in the English dub then the Japanese Romanized form of their name should be used with the various symbols such as "ō" converted into the spelled version of the character, "o" in this case and their name changed to Western order (Given name first) to avoid confusion to the readers. Names should not be translated into literal English until they appear in the English anime or have another source state their official English name.

(Kushina Uzumaki not Uzumaki Kushina)
(Pein not Pain)

When a character has an alias that character's article should use their real name not the alias, as the title. The different aliases that the character has should be elaborated upon in the article. When an article is in a context where the alias is more appropriate for use than the real name is (such as using Tobi instead of Madara Uchiha when talking about him in the context of Akatsuki) then the alias may be used as the name and link used in the article. (This includes placing a Kage's article on their real name and redirecting to it instead of using something like Sixth Hokage)

(Madara Uchiha not Tobi)
(Minato Namikaze not Hokage)

All other forms of the name (Nicknames, Short names, Kanji, Romanized, and alternate Viz names) should have redirects pointing to the article with the proper name.
