This technique is essentially a mass version of the Wood Clone Technique wherein the user forms the clone-oriented hand seal and then, using the pre-existing vegetation in the immediate vicinity as a medium, creates a large number of wood clones. Wood clones also have been seen to be able to cast genjutsu.
