These big, inconspicuous birds are used in Konohagakure. They are used in order to mobilise village jōnin or to summon them directly to the Hokage.^[1][2] Mobilised teams also use these birds to send messages back to the village.

• In Naruto Shippūden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 2, there are missions to find messenger birds.
