Mahiru appeared in the Kakashi Gaiden arc. Mahiru is an Iwagakure ninja who was sent to scout the area which Team Fourth Hokage was traveling. He employed about 20 shadow clones against the team, only to have all of them destroyed by Kakashi's Chidori. However, in the end he was able to counter the Chidori and would have succeeded in killing Kakashi and Obito without the intervention of Konoha's Yellow Flash. He is then killed, but not before expressing regret to run away when given the chance.
