The user wraps their body in a layer of lightning chakra that, instead of being used offensively, is used to electrically stimulate the user's nervous system. The technique speeds up neural synapses to react faster, and to push physical prowess to the absolute limit, allowing for tremendous raw speed.
This armour, combined with taijutsu, allows A and the Third Raikage to utilise nintaijutsu. When using the armour at full power, it causes the tips of A's hair to spike up and his reflexes are said to be comparable to those of Konoha's Yellow Flash, making it difficult even for the Sharingan, to keep up with him. By combining this armour with the Body Flicker Technique, he can even dodge Sasuke's Amaterasu and Jūgo's attack, both at point blank range. Only Minato Namikaze's Flying Thunder God Technique, and Naruto Uzumaki while in his Nine-Tails Chakra Mode are faster than A at his maximum speed, with the armour's maximum power.
The armour also increases the user's defences, drastically reducing, if not completely negating, damage from incoming attacks as seen when A deflected a back attack from Sasuke's Sword of Kusanagi: Chidori Katana.
- In lieu of tailed beast chakra, the Fourth Raikage uses this lightning armour to empower himself when performing the Lariat, producing the same effects due to his high-powered chakra.
- On the cover of volume 59, A's Lightning Release Armour is shown to be yellow.
- Upon activation, it resembles to the activation of in Dragon ball series. Because of the lightning chakra is similar to the golden aura that surrounds the user, the raising and spiking of the hair, and lastly the improvement of the user's abilities.
