The Lightning Release (雷遁, Raiton; English TV "Lightning Style") area of elemental Nature Transformation are techniques that allow the user to generate lightning by converting their chakra into electricity. Of all of the basic chakra natures, Lightning Release techniques require the most amount of chakra to be performed. Lightning Release techniques are fast-moving and cause not only electrical but piercing damage as well. Common to ninja of Kumogakure, Lightning Release is strong against earth but weak against wind. In addition, lightning is one of the components for Storm Release.
