The Land of Whirlpools (渦の国, Uzu no Kuni, Viz: Land of Eddies) is where the Uzumaki clan originates from. It no longer exists, having been destroyed and the rest of the survivors scattered across the world. The surname Uzumaki was very common in this country.[1] It was located on an island off of the coast of the Land of Fire.

Main article: Uzushiogakure Uzushiogakure (渦潮隠れの里, Uzushiogakure no Sato, English TV: Hidden Eddy Village, literally meaning: Village Hidden by Whirling Tides) was the shinobi village of the Land of Whirlpools. The people of Uzushiogakure were noted to have notoriously long lives, so it gained the epithet "The Village of Longevity" (長寿の里, Chōju no Sato).[2]
