The Land of Bears (熊の国, Kuma no Kuni) is introduced in the Star Village filler arc and is home to Hoshigakure. It is mostly consisted of forests and mountains and the Shinobi Village is at dead-center of it all, surrounded by a canyon filled with poisonous gas that the locals call the Devil's Ravine (the Valley of death, in the english dubbed version), which serves as a natural barrier to prevent raids or infiltrations to occur on their relatively small terrain. The shinobi of the Hidden Star Village train with a meteor that crashed there 200 years previous to the series' beginning. What the shinobi don't know is that it causes harm to them.
It is not known whether or not there are any bears in the Land of Bears.
