Kunijirō (クニジロウ, Kunijirō) is a rich jeweller who started off poor and is old acquaintance of Tsunade. When his son, Kunihisa wanted to find out what it meant to be a ninja, he asked Tsunade to show him what a life as a ninja was like, and Naruto was given the job.
