The current head of the [[Konoha Cryptology Squad]] is a middle-aged professional who sees the day-to-day activities of the squad, taking direct orders from the [[Hokage]]. He is usually seen working in front of the squad's office computer, and is presumably knowledgeable of all the secret codes [[Konohagakure]] uses in the delivery of messages. This explains why he found it unusual that [[Jiraiya]]'s encrypted message does not correspond to any code in their present holdings.
