Chūnin Exam Arc

He believes that he will one day become Hokage, though Iruka said Kōji had to improve his grades before that dream could come true.

Survival Training Arc

Later, in the anime, Kōji is added to a team under the leadership of Neji Hyūga on a mission to Takurami Mountain. Kōji and the others marvel at Neji's abilities to navigate with a wrist watch if a compass wouldn't work.
