Iwana Akame (赤目イワナ, Akame Iwana) is a chūnin-level shinobi of Konohagakure.

Appearance

Iwana's attire consisted of the standard Konoha shinobi complete with flak jacket and a forehead protector which he wore like a bandanna. He also wears an eye-patch over his left eye.

He is one of the many ninja who gather at the start of the series to track down Naruto when he steals the Scroll of Seals from the Hokage's residence.

Trivia

• Akame (赤目) means red, or bloodshot eyes, possibly referring to his eye patch. It is also the Japanese name of the Japanese lates (Lates japonicus), a fish that is so rare and shy, it has received an almost legendary status among fishermen.
• Iwana (岩魚、鮇) is also the name of a fish, or more specifically, of several species of fish from the Salvelinus genus, often called char or charr in English.
