Iwana Akame (赤目イワナ, Akame Iwana) is a chūnin-level shinobi of Konohagakure.

Appearance

Iwana's attire is that of the standard Konoha shinobi complete with flak jacket and a forehead protector which he wears like a bandanna. He also wears an eye-patch over his left eye.

Introduction Arc

He was one of the many ninja who gathered at the start of the series to track down Naruto Uzumaki when he stole the Scroll of Seals from the Hokage's residence.

Trivia

• Akame (赤目) means red, or bloodshot eyes, possibly referring to his eye patch. It is also the Japanese name of the Japanese lates (Lates japonicus), a fish that is so rare and shy, it has received an almost legendary status among fishermen.
• Iwana (岩魚、鮇) is also the name of a fish, or more specifically, of several species of fish from the Salvelinus genus, often called char or charr in English.
