Shibi sends his insects underneath the opponent before springing them upon the enemy, sucking their chakra dry. The technique isn't as effective if the opponent has chakra reserves which surpass the kikaichū's capacity to suck chakra.

However, if the opponent has an unlimited amount of chakra, such as [[Mukade (movie)|Mukade]] did at the time, the jutsu will not work as the destruction bugs are overwhelmed by the chakra. This is one of the largest and presumably strongest techniques of the Aburame clan as it contained enough insects to completely cover Mukade's puppet body and upon use Shibi expended enough chakra for it to become visible while performing this technique.
