The Nara Clan, the Yamanaka Clan, and the Akimichi Clan have a long history together, with an Ino–Shika–Chō group formed once a generation with one member from each clan. The previous Ino–Shika–Chō are the fathers of the members of Team Asuma, teamed up in their younger days and continued working together even after passing the torch to their children. During the events of the Fourth Shinobi World War, Shikaku Nara and Inoichi Yamanaka were killed off when the Allied Shinobi Forces's base of operations was destroyed by the Ten-Tails, leaving Chōza Akimichi as the group's sole surviving member.

Trivia

  • The name is also sometimes written in kanji: 猪鹿蝶.
  • In an omake for Naruto: Shippūden episode 173, Inoichi remarks that the Ino–Shika–Chō of his generation was once renowned across the nations. Chōza then insists that they still are.
