The fifteenth generation of Ino-Shika-Chō consisted of Shikaku Nara, Inoichi Yamanaka and Chōza Akimichi, the fathers of Team Asuma. They teamed up in their younger days and continued working together even after passing the torch to their children.

During the events of the Fourth Shinobi World War, Shikaku Nara and Inoichi Yamanaka were killed when the Allied Shinobi Forces's base of operations was destroyed by the Ten-Tails, leaving Chōza Akimichi as the group's sole surviving member.

During the Third Shinobi World War, the Ino–Shika–Chō were sent to deliver a peace treaty to Iwagakure shinobi. The arrival of Rasa, and a large number of Suna shinobi, saved the team from being attacked and assured that the treaty was delivered to the Tsuchikage.

In an omake for Naruto: Shippūden episode 173, Inoichi remarks that the Ino–Shika–Chō of his generation was once renowned across the nations. Chōza then insists that they still are.
