The Hiding in Frost Technique produces a visually clouding frost to spring forth by causing the temperature of air to fall below the freezing point, effectively freezing any ambient water vapor in the vicinity. The frost's is able to render anyone caught within it visionless, allowing the user to covertly attack or assassinate targets. The frost's thickness is presumably controlled by the amount of chakra kneaded into it.

Trivia

Despite frost being the frozen deposition of water vapor, it is not completely clear whether or not this technique involves Ice Release or is just another form of Water Release, due to the anime's tendency of incorporating ice producing Water Release techniques.
