Harusame (ハルサメ) was the former master of Utakata.
Background
The ritual for extracting the Six-Tails from Utakata.
Harusame was once Utakata's master. Utakata had trusted him until Harusame tried to remove the Six-Tails from within his body. This act resulted in Utakata transforming into the Six-Tails and killing him. Since then, Utakata has held a great grudge against Harusame and made him think that the bond between master and student is not something to be counted on. Tsurugi states that Harusame tried to remove the Six-Tails to save Utakata, but Utakata believed otherwise until he remembered that he had, in fact, heard Harusame's words to him.
