Abilities
Due to its natural eating habit, the Anteater is a perfect counter for an insect using shinobi, catching several insects at once with his long sticky tongue.

Konoha History Arc
It would use it's long tongue as a whip that was powerful enough to defeat Naruto Uzumaki's shadow clones. The anteater ate Shino Aburame's kikaichū when Shino was preparing a sneak attack on them. In the end, the anteater was defeated when Shino wrapped its tongue around a tree.
