ok i have been reading naruto manga for a while but i ran into some trouble. how do i pronounce these words
chūnin i heard it was (chew-nin) jōnin.i heard it was (joe-nin) Shizune. is it (shi-zune) or (shi-zune-ay)
and theres most likely others i will run into but i apprecieat the help

- The first sound of 'jonin' is actually pronounced pretty much the same way you pronounce the English 'yawn'+in. Shizune is pronounced shi-zu-ne; the e in 'ne' being pronounced like the e in eventually, for example. By the way, there's been some changes in the policies, so I'm not sure if some sysop is going to bark at you for placing this question here (although it's totally relevant in my eyes). I hope I answered your question :)
- If I could make a suggestion, I would find something in a library (or just download something where they use it) where they speak the Japanese language to get myself acquainted with the way they pronounce sounds. - You could also try Google Translate's 'listen' option. It's not perfect, but will work just fine for most words. I would suggest entering the hiragana, though, so:
- じょうにん for jōnin
- ちゅうにん for chūnin
- しずね for Shizune
