:The first sound of 'jonin' is actually pronounced pretty much the same way you pronounce the English 'yawn'+in. Shizune is pronounced shi-zu-ne; the e in 'ne' being pronounced like the e in eventually, for example. By the way, there's been some changes in the policies, so I'm not sure if some sysop is going to bark at you for placing this question here (although it's totally relevant in my eyes). I hope I answered your question :)

The first sound of 'jonin' is actually pronounced pretty much the same way you pronounce the English 'yawn'+in.
If I could make a suggestion, I would find something in a library (or just download something where they use it) where they speak the Japanese language to get myself acquainted with the way they pronounce sounds. It's much easier to picture the sound in your head if you do that :) ~Hakinu (talk | contribs) 00:48, July 1, 2011 (UTC)
You could also try Google Translate's 'listen' option. It's not perfect, but will work just fine for most words. I would suggest entering the hiragana, though, so:
  • じょうにん for jōnin
  • ちゅうにん for chūnin
  • しずね for Shizune
