Every page I have visited has been locked from receiving edits. How do you call this the wiki anyone can edit when you restrict it to only high ranking users? I'm trying to improve articles. On numerous occasions I have found significantly inaccurate lines, and complex explanations that needed appropriate paraphrasing. I've read the manga 3 full times so you know I'm credible. I remember a year ago you guys let anyone edit and I didn't have to go through this BS of making an account. Now I've done that and I still can't edit. It's really frustrating. Please try to make this comfortable for everyone. Nexus32 (talk) 15:10, July 21, 2012 (UTC)

We are trying to make this Wiki more comfortable. By having less vandalism here. -White Flash-(Talk)- 15:12, July 21, 2012 (UTC)
Unfortunately, this wiki is routinely attacked by vandals who consistently destroy high traffic pages. Back in the day, this wouldn't have been a problem as it is now. So, if there is any user you have to blame, it is the anonymous wikia contributors who vandalise the site. Every day, there is a vandal here so the wiki admins decided to just start locking pages for those who continue to be a nuisance to the site in the hopes to stop vandals, but it only goes so far. --Speysider Talk Page | My Image Uploads | Tabber Code | My Wiki | Channel 15:17, July 21, 2012 (UTC)
I understand. Believe me, I would rather not have this wiki vandalized. It just bewilders me that even after creating an accounts, people would deliberately make bad edits. I'll assume that not every page is locked on here so I'll just try to work my way up the ladder. Thanks for the speedy responses. Nexus32 (talk) 15:24, July 21, 2012 (UTC)

Heller disgruntled newb~ lol
Narutopedia now has a standard regarding your issue. You need to make 10 edits to become an "auto-confirmed" user and then you'll be allowed to edit pages that aren't protection-restricted to sysops. It's not ridiculous, it's a necessary measure because of the vandalism that may take place here. So for now, any edits you deem necessary to articles you cannot access, simply leave a message on the article's talkpage and an editor will get back to you. Until then, build your trusted edits to 10 and you're good to go.--Cerez365Hyūga Symbol(talk) 16:26, July 21, 2012 (UTC)

To further explain this issue, just locking the page to registered users was not working, because we were frequently getting vandals who had accounts, and were auto-confirmed by doing edits in other wikis, bypassing the block. We had to change that, so now users are only considered auto-confirmed after they've done those edits in this wiki. Omnibender - Talk - Contributions 17:18, July 21, 2012 (UTC)
