Originally I oversaw the wiki by looking at all the changes on the wiki. After awhile the wiki grew to a point that I couldn't keep up with all the edits. So at that point I started to only pay attention to talkpages, forums, and userspaces. The edits there have grown lately, and I've had less time to spend reading messages, rc pages, and rss feeds. So at this point I'm not going to be monitoring the recentchanges here. Please poke me about any relevant discussions.
This isn't really a bad thing. Just another step in being the founder of a wiki. At the start of a wiki the founder usually oversees everything pushing it in the best direction they see and doing most of the work themselves. The community grows and starts to take over most of the maintenance of the content. A point comes at which the founder can't come up with much to contribute, that's the point where the community has grown enough that they can handle the content on their own. Another point comes at which the founder can't find any spam to clean up that hasn't already been cleaned up, that's the point where the wiki has grown enough to handle the span and vandalism on it's own. Another point comes at which the founder can't keep up with the recent changes, that's the point where the community has grown to become large enough to sustain constant improvement in content. The wiki has just grown enough to take care of just about everything on it's own. Another user has even taken on my job of doing template work. ~NOTASTAFF Daniel Friesen (DanTMan, Nadir Seen Fire) (talk) Feb 6, 2010 @ 03:19 (UTC)
