So a while ago, I created a template which could be used to signify to any user that the page has been protected (semi or fully), in case the user is not able to notice the page is protected. That template is located here: Template:Protected. Should we add this to any protected page ? This wouldn't be used on things like the main page, policy pages or template pages as they are normally protected anyway. Discuss below, thanks :) --Speysider Talk Page | My Image Uploads | Tabber Code | Channel 12:58, September 1, 2013 (UTC)

Why wouldn't they notice the page is protected? It is the first thing the user is told when they try to edit it. — SimAnt 15:56, September 1, 2013 (UTC)

By "notice", I mean that they might not see the button is reading "View Source" instead of "Edit this page". A large number of wiki's use a template like this to make it completely clear that the page has been protected. --Speysider Talk Page | My Image Uploads | Tabber Code | Channel 15:57, September 1, 2013 (UTC)
Seems a bit pointless to me. The view source button already says the same. Moreover, clicking on it takes you to the source with deletion log mentioned. The templates I have seen being used are a bit different like this for example. ~ UltimateSupreme 16:09, September 1, 2013 (UTC)

That makes almost no sense at all. o.o
I was referring to "Wikia" wiki's, not so much wikipedia, mainly because they have variations of one template for all sorts of different reasons. --Speysider Talk Page | My Image Uploads | Tabber Code | Channel 16:12, September 1, 2013 (UTC)
Technically speaking, all pages on the wiki are semi-protected. As in, only registered users can edit. ~SnapperTo 16:47, September 1, 2013 (UTC)
Good point, I almost forgot about that. So maybe this template should only be used on fully protected articles (which there aren't a lot of) ? --Speysider Talk Page | My Image Uploads | Tabber Code | Channel 16:48, September 1, 2013 (UTC)
If I am not wrong, semi-protect is for auto-confirmed and not all registered users are ac. ~ UltimateSupreme 17:00, September 1, 2013 (UTC)
Sort of an oranges to tangerines distinction. ~SnapperTo 17:22, September 1, 2013 (UTC)
