Forums: Index → Help desk → Locating heaviest Semantic queries | Post |
Dear community,
I'm trying to locate the heaviest Semantic queries on Narutopedia in order to later convert them into Concepts, that can be cached properly. Currently Narutopedia is one of the heaviest hitters when it comes to consumed DB time, which should really not be the case. Plus, caching will make the wiki considerably faster.
How to spot a heavy query?
Queries begin with an {{#ask and then specify a number of conditions, that need to be true, for a page to end up in the results of the query. These may include a type of jutsu, an episode number, etc. Generally speaking, the more conditions, the heavier the query is. Three conditions is a good bet, four is a bullseye, two would be a suspect we can look at, too. ;)
Please, if you can, list any pages that contain such queries below. Thanks! --TOR 23:38, February 2, 2010 (UTC)
- Um all the queries are basically done on these 3 pages. Template:MediaNav Template:FamilyTree Template:Infobox/Naruto/Character Down in the jutsu section (Would have liked to used ! comparators for media, but couldn't seem to get that to work) Sorry if I messed anything up with doing queries wrong. - Also, it would help if I could store variables (i guess with #vardefine) so I wouldn't have to ask for the same result twice. Simant (talk) 00:30, February 3, 2010 (UTC)
Thanks, Simant! That helped a lot. Here are the concepts that I created:
(0) Creating cache for "Concept:Characters" ... (1) Creating cache for "Concept:Jutsu" ... (2) Creating cache for "Concept:Tools" ... (3) Creating cache for "Concept:Episodes of Naruto Original" ... (4) Creating cache for "Concept:Arcs of Naruto Original" ... (5) Creating cache for "Concept:Movies of Naruto Original" ... (6) Creating cache for "Concept:Movies of Naruto Shippuden" ... (7) Creating cache for "Concept:Arcs of Naruto Shippuden" ... (8) Creating cache for "Concept:Episodes of Naruto Shippuden" ...
Hope the changes didn't break anything. Feel free to shout at me if they did. :) --TOR 13:17, February 3, 2010 (UTC)
