Narutopedia Discussion Image Warning

I've setup three new templates and now with the new greeting system I think it would be a good idea to make use of them. The three templates are ImageWarn, {{subst:ImageRevert}}, and {{subst:ImageDelete}}, the latter of course doesn't have much use for anyone besides wiki sysops.

These are warning templates.

The first one warns a user that an image they uploaded has been tagged for deletion (Using templates like {{No license}}, {{No rationale}}, {{Leafninja image}}, {{Poor quality}}, and {{Poor filename}}). It can be used simply by throwing ImageWarn onto the bottom of the user's talkpage. I recommend that any user tagging new images with tags for missing info also throw one of these on the user's talkpage for at least one of the image. This might make more users' realize they should be tagging their image and are just causing more work for other editors.

The second one tells a user that the image they overwrote was reverted. This should be placed on the user's talkpage when they overwrite an image with a new one. It tells them about the image policy and notes both that we don't permit overwriting images, and what to do instead. It can be used simply by throwing {{subst:ImageRevert|<ImageName.ext>}} onto the end of the user's talkpage.

And the final one will probably only have use the three sysops. It notifies the user that their image was deleted and points them to the policy page. This one should be used when we delete images right away for the various policy pieces that provoke immediate deletion (spam, fancruft, .gif extensions, etc...).

The section headers are included inside the templates so you just have to hit edit, and subst them into the bottom of the page with the image name, the template will handle the rest.

I hope this might improve the current situation with the piles of deletion tagged images. ~NOTASTAFF Daniel Friesen (DanTMan, Nadir Seen Fire) (talk) Mar 19, 2009 @ 17:34 (UTC)

Hmm, Seems like an excellent idea, okay, so, when will this be posted? -- Rasengan888 (talk)(Narutopedia Editor) 18:34, 19 March 2009 (UTC)
Already is. The templates are up, and their already being used to annoy anyone who doesn't follow the image policy when they upload ^_^ heh.
Extra note. Don't sign the warnings. Signatures are integrated into the templates and it has a {{-}} at the end to avoid images going over other headers. ~NOTASTAFF Daniel Friesen (DanTMan, Nadir Seen Fire) (talk) Mar 19, 2009 @ 19:42 (UTC)

I think that is a great idea, though, how about if the users keep on perusing or keep on uploading images that is already tagged for deletion? Tsujiraoro07

I normally give them a personal warning as I used to when I saw users who uploaded a half dozen troublesome images at a time, and if they continue to persist despite warnings, block. ~NOTASTAFF Daniel Friesen (DanTMan, Nadir Seen Fire) (talk) Apr 6, 2009 @ 06:16 (UTC)

Now I am illuminated.... what a great idea!! Tsujiraoro07
