However, after being stabbed, he realises that Sasuke had used a [[genjutsu]] to make it seem as though he had one more Sharingan to use for [[Izanagi]]. In a last attempt to defeat Sasuke, Danzō activates [[Shisui]]'s Sharingan and takes [[Karin]] hostage. Sasuke then ruthlessly pierces Karin with his [[Chidori Sharp Spear]] in order to kill Danzō as well. As Danzō tries to escape, [[Tobi]] appears and informs him that he wishes to take Shisui's eye. Danzō then has a flashback of his life and his rivalry with [[Hiruzen]]. In a final attempt to defeat Tobi and Sasuke, Danzō tries to [[Reverse Four Symbols Sealing Technique|seal]] the two within him, but they both manage to get away enough to survive.
