Danger! Sage Mode Limit Reached (危機! 消えた仙人モード, Pinchi! Kieta Sennin Mōdo) is episode 164 of the Naruto Shippūden anime.

Synopsis

The improved Wind Release: Rasenshuriken was avoided by three Paths of Pain, but the Human Path was vaporised when it expanded. The Animal Path engaged Naruto (who was running out of senjutsu chakra). Through a diversionary tactic devised by Shima, Fukasaku and Gamabunta, it was incapacitated by Naruto's Sage Technique: Spiralling Serial Spheres in Gamabunta's mouth, who was launched at the two by Fukasaku. It could not dodge thanks to the Six Paths' block of vision through Shima's Sage Art: Wind Release Dust Cloud. The Deva Path then tried to assault Naruto, who barely manages to fend off, which was turned to its disadvantage when Fukasaku reversed-summoned one of Naruto's shadow clone that was collecting nature energy in Mount Myōboku, restoring Naruto into Sage Mode. When Naruto attempted to finish the Deva Path with another Rasenshuriken, the Preta Path immediately jumped to absorb it, having been repaired by the Outer Path. With this setback, Naruto devised a three-step diversionary tactic to permanently disable the Naraka Path. With Deva Path regaining its power, he used Shinra Tensei to repel Naruto and send Gamabunta, Gamaken and Gamahiro flying beyond Konohagakure's borders.
