Daikoku Funeno (ふねのダイコク, Funeno Daikoku) is a chūnin-level shinobi of Konohagakure where he serves as a teacher at the Academy.

Background

When Sasuke enroled at the Academy, Daikoku reminisces about Itachi's time as a student. He states that Itachi was the most gifted student he had ever had, and expected great things from Sasuke as well.

Appearance

Daikoku is a fairly large man with brown hair and a goatee. He wears the standard uniform of the Konoha shinobi inclusive flak jacket and a forehead protector that he wears like a bandanna.

Twelve Guardian Ninja Arc

He later makes a cameo appearance, receiving orders from Tsunade along with several other chūnin.

Konoha History Arc

In the anime, during the aftermath of Pain's invasion he met with his fellow tutors Iruka Umino and Suzume making preparations to search for and salvage anything that could be used for class.
