This mask was given by Orochimaru to Kasumi in order for her to get revenge on "Konohagakure" for destroying Castle Dusk. In order to use this mask, however, Kasumi had to sacrifice her physical form to be intertwined with the castle. It also fed on the user's hatred.
Abilities
This mask was able to create illusions, as well to let the user deactivate the enemy's dōjutsu while in the castle.
Since the mask fed on the user's hatred, it had a weakness. If the user lost some of their hatred, the mask would crack. If the user completely lost his or her hatred, the mask would be destroyed.
Trivia
- This mask is reminiscent of the "Hannya" (般若) from Japanese folklore. The Hannya is a Noh mask representing a jealous female demon while the Curse Mask was both fuelled by hatred and worn by a princess filled with hatred.
