Synopsis

Asuma's team reached the bounty station and ambushed Hidan. Izumo and Kotetsu attacked, but were unable to kill him despite stabbing his vital organs, due to Hidan's immortality. Asuma said that, if they retreated, Konoha would be endangered. Shikamaru realized that Asuma was considering sacrificing himself to help defeat the enemy. Asuma began fighting Hidan, whilst Shikamaru distracted him by forcing him to dodge his Shadow Sewing Technique. Hidan cut Asuma on the cheek with his scythe, drew a circle of blood on the ground and stepped into it, just as Asuma used a Fire Release jutsu to engulf Hidan in flame.
