Kabuto uses small snakes to execute the process of recreation and multiplication of the cells of a living being. However this requires the possession of the DNA of this given living being. Kabuto compared this process with a virus infection, presumably because of its fastness. The spring water produced by The Hole appears to catalyse and speed up the recreation process because of the large "life force" flowing through it. Kabuto used this technique to recreate the body of Akatsuki member Hidan, and later gained control over him with a special talisman.
