Hiruzen can learn the ftg,it can be used by anyone with a decent understand of seals and it's usage. Hiruzen could learn that technique, if he learned the reaper death seal technique then he has the aptitude and skill to learn high level sealing techniques. He has to memorize the ftg formula also . But hiruzen in his old age would not be able to use it to maximum potential like the second or fourth hokage.

Even Minato, in his prime, was exposed to considerable danger in its use. Tobirama similarly used it as a rather special-case jutsu and didn't spam it near as much as Minato did. Given that the Hokage's guards couldn't even use it by themselves, it's clearly a high level jutsu that's not that particularly useful by itself. Even a trick like Minato placing kunai at home opens you up to considerable risk.

So while it's probable that he can use it, i find it hard to believe he could use it very effectively. Same reason Kakashi never used Rasengan in combat - he had better tools.

Poor excuse. Everything is plot. Every series has a finite amount of time. Would you trade, say, Naruto learning Rasenshuriken for Hiruzen doing an FTG?

There's a vast gulf of skill between "i can perform this jutsu" and "i can use it to fight kage-level opponents and beyond" Someone like Orochimaru wouldn't be fazed the slightest if Hiruzen needed to prepare a kunai slowly, then threw it, then teleported to it. Minato dedicated 3 years to developing a quick-fire ninjutsu that he could use with FTG. That's the kind of dedication it needs to be used on a kage-level.

It depends on which databook you want to believe. One he says he knows how to use all the jutsu in Konoha but another one says he has only studied them.

If he does know it, he probably isnt very good at it. Part of the reason FTG was so dangerous/effective in the hands of Minato/Tobirama was because they were so fast. Hiruzens fighting style also heavily relied on using his staff thingy and at the time he fought Orochimaru it was feeling heavy for him.

Didn't Konohamaru himself stated in Boruto that The Third could have used Rasengan??? When he was boasting about it and was about to use it in battle???

Studying them would still imply he has the knowledge on how the jutsu is cast and works, which should really be enough to cast said jutsu. Knowing a few hand seals was enough to learn the Practice Brick jutsu, despite it being an earth release jutsu. Doesn't mean that the Alliance can now use earth walls in every fight against jonin+ level opponents, just that they can use the jutsu.

I mean, Jiraiya showed and explained to Naruto how Rasengan works but it still took him a month to even get kinda right.

Shikamaru asked for the simplest, easiest jutsu to "teach" the alliance, meanwhile FTG requires 3 jonin level guys to perform with the exception of Minato and Tobirama.

Hiruzen knows all techs in Konoha. Does not mean he wasnts to use them. His fighting style is not revolved around transportation. He is a master in all forms of Shinobi combat, who relies on his Summon, and his vast knowledge and intellect, so what would he do with FTG? Warp behind somebody just to wack them over the head with Enma? He has no real use for FTG. So he doesn't need to use it for combat.

first of all, Hiruzen is said to have mastered various forms of ninja combat. the man is not slow by any means. he isnt going to be like slow in drawing a kunai, throwing it and teleporting it. he was fast enough to throw a kunai and multiply it. he could very well use that as a distraction and teleport.

btw, Tobirama didnt need the Rasengan to work alongside FTG. he worked around with a simple sword and did it effeciently. A man like Hiruzen who knows many jutsu can simply use any form of ninjutsu or weaponry to attack.

Eh... When exactly? because everything i know, from all character statements to databook states that only Minato, Jiraiya, Kakashi, Naruto, Konohamaru and Boruto know Rasengan. and of course Momo.

Hiruzen pretty much knew every jutsu in Konoha. People seem to forget how old Hiruzen was. He was 70 years old. His Chakra was so low at that point, that it was stated that even making 2 Shadow clones was a risk for him. That's why he never showcased such deadly abilities. You expect him to be using Flying Raijin alive? It literally takes 4 Jonin to do that. Hiruzen didn't have the reserves to do it at his old age. His old age cursed him with low reserves.

When it came to the 4th War, he wasn't as inhibited. He could use up all his Chakra just to have it replenished. It's possible he might have been able to use it. But he still had low reserves, they just would fill up eventually after usage and wouldn't kill him if he ran out. So I don't know if he even had enough initial chakra to make a single jump with Flying Raijin. All Raijin requires is knowledge and Chakra. It's obvious Hiruzen had the first.

Then the situation of the 4th War. It's not like they were summoned and could go grab everything they needed to fight. No. They were summoned and the moment they could, they left for the war. Hiruzen did not have Flying Raijin Kunai's with him, so he wasn't going to use it in war even if he could.

So in the end, Hiruzen just lacked the reserves to do it at 70 years old when he was alive. He already had the knowledge on how to do it. If he had been younger? Maybe. Depends on how vast his reserves were when he was in his prime. If they were Kage level, he could have used it.
