Because for me it was not a good father of Hinata, he was rather a terrible father and not caring for his older daughter, and his younger daughter was a good father and caring. How do you think he was a good, loving father for Hinata? Answer what you think about the father-daughter relationship.

Why wouldn't the females not be considered in branch family? I am curious about this deduction.

If this was remotely true Neji would have been chosen. But he wasn't. I feel that we shouldn't try to find weakness in practice which may have started ages ago. It just that thanks to Hiashi's progressive thinking he is able to remove this practice of "cage Bird Seal".

No, Hizashi was part of the branch-family right from the beginning because he was born after Hiashi. Sure you can argue that that's unfair, but that's how the clan is run. Same thing with Hinata's case. there is no proof that female's get the mark. or even if female's are considered branch family EVER. we know that hinata wasn't instantly branded the mark, and therefore logic would dictate that neither would have hanabi

Maybe the Hyugas are a superstitious bunch? I mean Hiashi and Hizashi were twins and the younger one was braided with the curse mark. But Hinata and Hanabi are not twins, and Hanabi was not braided with the curse mark so...?

My guess is that it's indeed the fact that they were twins. It could be that the claim to the Main branch is determined by age or birth, but that the close birth leaves no clear leader.
Alternatively, the feudal setting could imply feudal laws apply, which could mean that the Hyuga claim is divided among it's male heirs or in absence of male heirs, a suitable female heir is chosen.

Well, I'm pretty sure that their daughters weren't considered "branch" families, because they technically can't "start" one.
Plus, we've never seen females branded with a curse mark in the first place. It's pretty unrealistic that there has never been females born in the main family other than Hinata and Hanabi.
Plus Plus, now that Naruto is the hokage, he could've kept his word on "changing the Hyuga way", but that's probably less likely.

Well, looking at whole series, I can think of only two Hyuga women other than Hinata and Hanabi, both anime only:
1. Hinata and Hanabi's mother, and we have no idea if she even was Hyuga by blood. 2. Natsu, that maid from Hanabi's filler, but she wear headband protector, so her cursed mark could be hidden.
The whole issue with Caged Bird Seal is that it was stupid idea to begin with and only served as plot device for Neji's hatred and his change later.
