Madara is a very calm and collected individual, but he doesn't come across as boring or uninteresting, he comes off as a huge badass, imo you could take Batman, wolverine and every badass outside of the naruto universe and Madara is still more badass than all of them combined.
depends on ones POV :D for me it is "The Joker" from the batman-movies, he is simply awesome ^_^

He monologues in a way that I find very interesting and extremely convincing, he's not like so many other villains who you just want to shut up, every word of Madara's multiple speeches is very well written, and imo is the most well written character in this series.
i thought they was good at best, at least better than narutos talks and sasukes "should be".....-something speeches :)

I also find that he's only debatively evil, as he seems to want world peace just as much as Naruto or Hashirama, the only difference being the means of obtaining peace. he's not evil simply for the sake of being evil, like Orochimaru was, he just had a different way of obtaining peace.
yup, and his way was actually the "real" one, except for the stupid retcon which suddenly made it look like a horrible idea :) before that, i would have even agreed to his plan, i mean, why not? dream or reality, i wouldnt care, if im happy than im happy, it isnt like i feel "less happy" of a lie makes me happy ^_^
but this was what made the story go down, afterall madaras plans had been the best solution for the world-problems but the MC fought for....freedom? peace? friendship? in the end he was forced to be the wrong one since the MC needed to stay "correct", such sad ending :(

he also has a very well developed backstory which is what I feel Orochimaru really lacked.
mhhh, i always thought he had the most "unexplained" one, what happend?
- had hashi as childhoos friend,
-became leader, fought hashi,
-bother dead,
-made alliance, created konoha, went away because of world-peace(?),
-found stonetable,
-wants to destroy konoha since....konoha stopped him from making his plan? and he fought hashi for his cells, which, btw, could have been obtained by much easier methods like: take a hostage, demand hashi to bleed via cutting of his own flesh, taking the flesh

I'll always like how he was the one who basically gave this story a plot. Madara was the mastermind behind almost everything in the story.
but only until BZ revealed that he was a doll in his plans the whole time, pretty much like obtio, at least he didnt make a heel-face turn ^_^

I love Madara's abilities, he was huge threat, and like some other characters we never got to see his full power, which is something I really enjoy.
he wouldnt have been beaten if we had seen his full power, kishi needed to change him with a 0-experience-princess (+ give her a weakness other than "beat her down") only so that sasuke and naruto had a chance ^_^

Madara has everything that makes a villain great and more, to me he's the villain that every other villain should aspire to be.
i dont want that, as example: aizen was at least a mastermind on his own, he wasnt controlled by some black creepy thing :)

so who's your favourite villain in both the naruto series and in other media and why?
in the naruto verse it is oro before he got changed into sasukes pet, at least he was evil for lulz which is really rare to see ^_^
and in other media: The Joker!! he was evil for the lulz and he stays evil for the lulz, he has no codex or limit, nothing that stops him from killing anyone, a exstremely dangerous guy without any superpowers ^_^
