No, I didn't mean to write Boruto instead.
Now that the Japanese dub with English subtitles has finally been released (don't ask where to find it), I, along with a lot of other people, finally got the chance to see it. So I figured, why not have a legit discussion now?
- Originally, I just dismissed the movie as fanservice/a way to explain how Naruto and Hinata got together. And I was kinda right; Naruto basically went, "You know what? I think I totally love Hinata!"
- But, at least there was some substance. We have much more nonsensical couples confirmed to be canon.
- People weren't joking about Sasuke's lack of screentime. He was literally in the movie for less than a minute. I understand he's not the main character, but he could have at least had a little more exposure; it's an almost two hour long movie.
- That Part I music at the end...amazing. Almost amazing enough to make you forget that in 15 years, a manga about ninjas somehow turned into aliens, special eyes and giant moon-destroying cannons.
All in all, the movie's decent. If you don't give a shit about couples/pairings, there's not much to complain about. However, it did get me pretty hyped for Boruto. Let's hope it's not another six months before we can watch that.
