Since there are many discussions in different places going on, I figured a thread about the sense and senselessness of unnamed articles would be nice.
We definitely need guidelines for creating articles about techniques that weren't explicitely stated to be techniques. Guidelines that are more defined than "We're the Narutopedia, we write down everything we see".
It's not about writing it down, but about in what way we're writing it down? Why can't an unnamed technique be part of the user's ability section, when there's little to know information about it? How do we define a technique in general? Is every feat of a character a technique?
As long as we have no guidelines, technically, everyone could create an article for anything a character does. For example, Muyami created a sand cloud with his blades in this week's episode. What prevents us from creating an article for that?
You might say "because it's obvious that it isn't a technique", but that argument doesn't count if it can't be used on every other technique. To some, it's obvious that Burami's Body Expansion isn't a technique, but to others, it isn't. To others, it's obvious that Hashirama's cell's healing power is a technique, to some, it isn't.
So where do we draw the line? When does a gimmick become a technique? This is not supposed to be a discussion about if we should write down information, but how we should write it down (and where).
