Awakened Hinata

Awakened Hinata

Awakened Hinata is an alternate version of Hinata Hyuga playable in the games Naruto: Ultimate Ninja 2 (in which she is referred to as Byakugan Hinata and wears a somewhat different outfit), Naruto: Gekitou Ninja Taisen 4, Naruto: Clash of Ninja Revolution 2, and, to an extent, Naruto Shippūden: Clash of Ninja Revolution 3.

Even though her appearance is inspired by the clothes Hinata wore while using the Protection of the Eight Trigrams Sixty-Four Palms in a filler arc of the Naruto anime, she isn't directly based on those events, and could be considered an original creation of the games.

This version of Hinata is much more confident than usual, and could even be described as arrogant. In her pre-battle dialogue with Neji Hyuga in the Gekitou Ninja Taisen and Clash of Ninja games, she proudly challenges him, boasting about the power of the main branch of the Hyuga clan if she wins. She shows an attitude close to Neji's as he was earlier in the, before his defeat by Naruto. However, Awakened Hinata doesn't have any special reactions while battling any other member of the cast, even Naruto, though her generic quotes also show her confidence and changed behavior. Not only is her personality more like Neji's initial attitude, she's also able to use his jutsu, Eight Trigrams Sixty-Four Palms.

In Naruto Shippūden: Clash of Ninja Revolution 3, she appears as an alternate form of Hinata in battle. Hinata can activate her Byakugan to access Awakened Hinata's moveset. It's likely that the developers included this feature in order to include Awakened Hinata after her appearance in the previous game despite not being able to create a post-time skip version of her. This may have also been added in order to group Hinata with characters like Sasuke or Kakashi, who can also activate (or in Kakashi's case, uncover) their dojutsu in battle to access a form that was previously a completely separate character.
